In the fourth quarter of 2023, the top five social networking apps on iOS in Germany demonstrated diverse trends in downloads, revenue, and weekly active users. The data, sourced from Sensor Tower, provides an insightful look into their performance.

WhatsApp Messenger experienced a notable increase in downloads towards the end of the quarter. Beginning with around 68K downloads in late September, the app saw fluctuations but ended the quarter with a peak of 109K downloads in the last week of December. Weekly active users remained relatively stable, hovering around 17.6M throughout the quarter.

Threads, an Instagram app saw impressive growth in both downloads and active users. Downloads surged from approximately 95K in mid-December to 247K by the end of the month. Similarly, weekly active users rose sharply from 93K to 435K during the same period.

Telegram Messenger maintained a consistent performance in downloads and active users. Downloads ranged from 34K to nearly 40K, with a slight increase towards the end of December. Revenue showed a significant peak, reaching about $7.9K in the last week of December, while weekly active users fluctuated around 1.7M.

Facebook displayed steady growth in downloads, starting at 30K in late September and peaking at 48K by the end of December. Revenue showed a notable spike in early November with approximately $21K and remained strong throughout the quarter. Weekly active users were consistent, averaging around 8.1M.

Discord - Talk, Play, Hang Out showed moderate increase in downloads and fluctuations in revenue. Downloads climbed from around 22K in late September to 33K by the end of December. Revenue peaked at about $45K in the last week of December. Weekly active users, however, saw a slight decline, ending the quarter at approximately 1.46M.
